This recipe and the additional versions sound delicious! My question is, once you start mixing in the drippings or juices from the pan, how long can the Cowboy butter safely be kept in the refrigerator?

Until it goes bad :-)

I’d freeze it in the individual amounts you’d think you’d use. Like in an ice cube tray.

Made this tonight with grilled flank steak and mashed potatoes. It was heaven!

Do the variations include the hatch chilis? I’m trying to understand what the base recipe is, I guess.

I like this idea of a gravy that keeps on going. Right down the trail!

Superfine! I actually had the same question as Beth Weiss and Rosanne Rodriguez. I don't mind starting over, but you sort of make it sound like it's a pot of soup on the back of the stove that can keep going with additions for a long time?

I have a similar question. Am I adding additional juices to the jar in the fridge as time goes on? If I cook a steak on Saturday and add those juices to a batch of cowboy butter, can I then add the juices from Sunday's roast chicken to the same jar? Or save them for the next batch?

I made this immediately yesterday while in the midst of preparing dinner for my family, added the cooked chicken juices, and brushed it on a slices of good bread. Delicious, and a perfect accompaniment to our meal.
