I am always looking for new sauces to spice up my sandwiches and burgers. Hey, sauce is boss right?
Here is a great combo that adds the perfect amount of bite, smoke, acidity, and creaminess to any sandwich (or even veggies).
It’s easy to make and can hold for about 5-7 days I the fridge, although you will most likely eat all of it before that deadline.
One of the ingredients that is key here is the grilled piquillo peppers. Their flavor is somewhat sweet and spicy (but not too spicy) which is perfect for a sandwich). If you are unable to find these peppers, you can substitute roasted red peppers. I prefer those in a glass jar as opposed to a can.
If you don’t have smoked paprika, you can also substitute half the amount with regular paprika.
Ingredients:
1 teaspoon granulated garlic
1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
1 tablespoon minced shallot
1 tablespoon freshly sliced chives
2 tablespoon chopped grilled piquillo pepper (see above)
1 tablespoon chopped capers
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
1 tablespoon champagne vinegar
2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 cup primal kitchen mayo (I prefer the avocado oil mayo)
Instructions:
Combine ingredeints and whisk together in a small bowl.(note* the mayo is added last, not in picture below).
Can’t wait to try this. I usually make a sauce with mayo and ketchup with sweet pickle relish, basically my 1000 Island salad dressing. This sounds much more complex and lively.
Excited to make this! I usually make a sandwich/dipping sauce with mayo, hot sauce, capers, lemon juice, garlic & Dijon. This sounds like a great alternative!
